Transparent Proxy

A transparent proxy is a proxy that is transparent to the end user. The user doesn't have to configure any software in order to use the proxy, but they cannot generally avoid using it either. This allows an organisation to force the use of the proxy on all users and means workstations do not need any special configuration.

Most transparent proxies are HTTP proxies.
