System Administrator Appreciation Day (SAAD) has been celebrated on the last Friday in July each year since 2000. The holiday exists to thank sysadmins and other IT workers for what is normally a thankless job.

In companies that celebrate SAAD the sysadmin often receives small gifts from the company or co-workers.

A customary greeting for your system administrator on this day is Happy SAAD.
