Network backups
From Sysadmin
Network backups are normally a component of modern backups regiments. Normally one system will act as the backup server and all other systems are backed up across the network.
LAN Backups
Local network backups are rarely a problem as bandwidth within an organisation is normally plentiful, especially as backups are normally run during non-business hours.
WAN Backups
Remote hosts may be backed up over the network also but care should be taken to avoid them consuming large amounts of available bandwidth as the costs can be prohibitive.
