Change freeze
From Sysadmin
Certain periods of time are designated as a change freeze. Common situations for a change freeze include:
8.6.1 Client Demonstrations A change freeze will be in effect for at least one business day prior to the scheduled demonstration to the client and will end when the demonstration is complete. If there is a weekend or any holiday between the last business day prior and the day of the demonstration then the change freeze will be in effect for this period also. Thus if the demonstration is scheduled for a Monday the change freeze will cover Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
If a series of demonstrations are held over a period of days a longer change freeze maybe in effect.
During the change freeze:
- No non-emergency changes will be made to any system involved in the demonstration
- Any emergency changes that are made will be coordinated with the demonstration team
8.6.2 Sysadmin Availability During certain periods of time sysadmin availability may be reduced. This may occur because the sysadmins are on vacation or travelling. A change freeze should be in effect at least two business days before the period starts.
